Since its inception in 1977, the Anglo-Chinese Junior College Band has travelled far in its pursuit of musical excellence. The band has garnered a succession of Gold awards at the Singapore Youth Festivals since 1992, with a Gold with Honours in 2007. The Band has also put up numerous public concerts that have never failed to leave its audience moved by the passion and beauty of the music performed.
With a great desire to push their limits, the Band has also taken part in several overseas music festivals, international competitions and tours. In July 2008, the Band competed in the Jungfrau Music Festival held in Interlaken, Switzerland, and was award the Gold Award as well as the Top Band. They have also put up public performances in Salzburg and Vienna, Austria. Next year, the Band will be taking part in the Los Angeles International Music Festival.
While medals fade to dust, the everlasting friendships that the members have forged, memories of toiling through long and arduous rehearsals, and the experience on stage will forever remain in the hearts of every generation of musicians. The band's many achievements and milestones were made possible by the contributions and commitment of each and every member, musicians who find utmost satisfaction in every rehearsal and performance. It is with this spirit that we echo the school's motto: The Best is Yet to Be.
